Minutes of Board Meetings

NYSSA Board Meetings are usually held on the third Friday of each month.

The minutes are usually approved at the following month's meeting.

Therefore, there will usually be a one month lag between the date of the meeting and the appearance of the minutes on this page.

NYSSA Board Meeting June 20, 2025 . Attendees: Missing members included B. Rosen, J. Battaglia, Sammy Q. Change. How do you get rid of this?I can'tAll other board members were in attendance in addition to Asst Managers from Mets, Brewers, Dodgers, Angels. Others attending, N. Castellenta. . Minutes: From March were discussed and accepted as presented. . Financials: C. Schafer briefed all on finances through June 20th. Everything on track versus Plan. . Player Applications: All were returned except for J. MacDonald, Marlins and applications for Tigers which are not available. New applications to be supplied to Tigers, Austin McCann for completion. . Town of Hempstead Umpire Support: A brief discussion was held regarding the difference between LISSA support and NYSSA. Jules to follow up with Town. . . Shirt Money: Angels paid $40, Mets $20, others $120. Rain Outs: After a lengthy discussion and options tabled, the Managers agreed that we will add additional Rain Out dates to the Rain Out Dates on the schedule. Tournament schedule to follow completion of all games. . . Bristol Assisted Living Banner. A Cappelli volunteered to hang the banner at all games going forward. Media Day: July 16 at Cantiague Park, Field "A", game starts at 11 AM, players arrive at 10 AM. Theme is Anniversary of Yankees/Mets World Series 25 years ago. NYSSA > 80-year-old players to be invited. Team captains will be designated. . All Star Game: July 18 at Cantiague Park, Field "A", game starts at 10 AM, players arrive at 9 AM. 3 players from each team, total 30 participants, 15 per team, Managers to be determined by who’s in First Place on July 9th. J Bassey to supply hero sandwich, potato salad and coleslaw; Rich, Asst Mgr of Mets to handle bringing 100 bottles of water. . 2025 Awards: It was agreed that the Division Leaders (American and National) at schedule completion will each receive jackets for their teams. If there's a tie; tie breakers will be head-to-head results, inter-division record and if needed, a coin toss. First round of the Tournament will include a League Championship match the 2 Division Winners for 2 out of 3 League Championship. The winner will have their jackets with inscription, “League Champions”. The loser will simply have inscription, “Division Champion”. The Tournament Champion will receive collared shirts for their team. . Next Meeting: Friday July 25th at Cantiague Park at 10AM.
